Posted by Anonymous on June 4, 2022 at 3:48 pmOther than pollution (SPCB/CPCB) and petroleum explosives (PESO), which central and state approvals are needed to set up a biogas/CBG plant without any problems?

Hi Savita, The two clearances mentioned above by you are are critical. Apart from that, a slew of other clearances are sought, including local district administration, factory inspector, MoEFCC, State Electricity Board/CEA for power evacuation, water department for boring, fertilizer registrar (for manure marketing), and so on. Depending on the location of the plant, additional clearances from CPHHEO, Coastal Authorities, Civil Aviation, Railways, PNGRB, and others may be required, which must be evaluated on a case-to-case basis. Hope this explanation clarifies.

According to the present status, for new upcoming projects, the CFA scheme hasn’t been revised and extended since April 2021. However, it is presently under consideration to be revamped, and there lies a possibility of it being launched anytime soon. But, in the erstwhile tenure of the policy, MNRE had launched an online application system for fast sanction and release of subsidy. They mentioned of 45 days window for sanctioning the subsidy from the date of application submission. However, all the pre-requisites for subsidy application needs to be met, i.e. other clearances and permits from authorities, loan sanctioning, etc.
