India’s present energy system is dealing with a number of problems including erratic and very unstable crude prices and the resulting fiscal challenges, and the damaging ecological balance. Though, what remains a fact, is that in case the energy trend of the last few decade continues linearly, climate change will have a severe volatile and devastating impact on our lives. The import dependency is bound to rise, and crude will become scarcer and confined in a few countries around the world. An innovation is required to tackle the issue. As a matter of fact, the solution to energy challenges is not beyond our control.
